BootSafe by d7xTech
----------------------
BootSafe is designed to restart Windows (XP - 10) into the 'Safe Mode' of your choice. BootSafe also automatically attempts to repair damage to registry areas required to start 'Safe Mode' (in the event of a malware infection, or when other damage occurs.)

See the website for the most current information! www.d7xTech.com/free-software/bootsafe

NEW IN v5.0
-----------
* Added options to enable/disable the F8 startup key.
* Added repair of Windows 10 safe mode services, continuing the functionality added in v4.0 (in case Malware has damaged Safe Mode startup.)
* Added detection and optional creation of a temporary admin user in Windows 10 when the primary user account is a Microsoft (online) account, since those passwords aren't likely to work in Safe Mode.

NEW IN v4.1
-----------
* Added descriptive text and clarified terminology, interface, and process.
* Added prompt on restart to continue restarting in Safe Mode, or reconfigure for Normal Mode on the next restart (formerly it did the latter without prompt.)
* Fixed BootSafe.exe not reconfiguring Windows for Normal Mode when restarting into Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
* Fixed an issue with a previous version's digital certificate.

NEW IN v4.0
-----------
* Added automated Safe Mode repair for Windows XP - 8.1u1, when Safe Mode registry entries have been deleted by malware causing a BSOD/restart when attempting to boot to Safe Mode. This repair is performed prior to any reboot operation.

Usage:
------
Simply run BootSafe for options to restart Windows into one of several 'Safe Modes'. Upon restart into that 'mode' BootSafe will prompt you with options for restoring normal Windows startup and operation on any subsequent restarts. See the website for current usage details.

Portable Use:
-------------
This program may be run from anywhere in the local file system of a Windows PC, on a flash drive, CD/DVD, or other portable means by simply copying BootSafe.exe to your portable medium.

Command Line Parameters: (for scripting/etc.)
----------------------------------------------
Some limited command line parameter functionality is available; see the website for current information.

WARNING:
--------
NEVER MOVE OR DELETE the BootSafe.exe file after usage, unless you have already restarted to a 'Safe Mode' and then restarted to Windows 'Normal Mode' again, or have specifically configured the system for 'Normal Mode' via the BootSafe interface. If you remove the executable prior to returning the system to a normally configured state, it will not be able to automatically run once in Safe Mode in order to restore the Normal Mode configuration for subsequent restarts!

Limitations:
------------
* Requires administrative rights to launch the software.
* This program should not be run from a network path (even when mapped to a drive letter) as Windows will not have access to network resources upon restart (where BootSafe will run again to optionally remove it's modifications.)
